5S is a technique for organizing a workplace, especially a shared workplace like a shop floor or an office space. It is sometimes referred to as a housekeeping method but this description can be misleading because organizing a workplace goes beyond housekeeping. The key targets of 5S are workplace morale and efficiency. The purpose of 5S is to assign everything a location, making it quickly apparent when something is missing from its designated location. By doing so time is not wasted by looking for items.
Creative Safety Supply specializes in Floor Marking and ways to improve workplace flow. I have included attached information to this email on both 5S and Floor Marking. A good foundation for a 5S system is having properly marked floors that also comply with OSHA standards. Floor Marking can make an immediate impact in a facility as well as a great way to improve efficiency while complying with OSHA. With proper floor marking you can create a more safe and efficient facility that flows together for both employees and visitors. It can also be the main starting point for any lean, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban project in any facility.
We have a wide selection of Floor Marking tapes that identify aisles, warehouse lines, and safety hazards throughout your facility without the hassle and downtime of painting. At our online store we offer several choices in floor tapes, including MightyLine with a 3 year warranty and DuraStripe colored floor marking tapes.

Most facilities and plants are looking for ways to streamline their facility and follow OSHA regulations. If you are looking for a cost effective way to start and easily maintain any Lean program you must start at the source of the issue - for most companies that is the area that stores products or tools. OSHA requires that all facilities keep and sustain aisleways so people can have a safe way out without obstructions in case of an emergency.
The guide that we have included is compliant with OSHA and ANSII standards on floor marking. All of our supplies comply with OSHA and ANSII color regulations.
We have a very easy to use online store for all your floor marking needs… take a look at: www.shop.creativesafetysupply.com
